This hot summer of 2021 has proved to be a challenging environment in the steel construction sector. We have seen mill pricing increases in all shapes but especially in HSS and Plate. In addition to this, the lead times from the mills have pushed deliveries to 4-5 months from booking. Due to large fulfilment and distribution centre demand from every North American city, we are seeing long lead times in joist and deck, now delayed until the Summer of 2022.

BC
Riverbend 5 Multi-Storey Warehouse is almost substantially complete for the structural steel SOW. The 11,000 metric tonne warehouse structure had its topping off ceremony in early August, Supermetal's installation and engineering teams have received rave reviews from the Construction Manager - Ledcor.

141 Bay Overbuild - The initial phases of the overbuild is complete which span the tracks servicing Union Station in downtown Toronto. With construction hours being limited to the early morning from 12am - 5am, it required careful planning of activities to ensure efficiency. The overbuild area will support cranes and a laydown area for the 141 Bay Tower, currently beginning construction. It will later turn into a park space between the twin towers of CIBC Square. Pinewood Studios - is a complex for film & television production located in the Port Lands region of Toronto. The facility offers stage rental and other services to producers of Film / TV content. It is a state-of-the-art facility; with approximately 164,000 square feet of production space across 11 purpose-built stages. It features: - 2 new buildings, 205,000 square feet

Mirvish Village - Designed to be a truly complete community of purpose-built rental housing, more than 10% of the units will be deeply affordable. Markham Street will host a new daycare with outdoor playspace, a bike hub with dedicated bike valet, and public art installations. Supermétal provided the penthouse galvanized steel housing the mechanical systems for the 4 tower complex and the upcoming steel for the covered central Marketplace area.

Gordie Howe Bridge - Point of Entry Buildings - The Joint-Venture team at Bridging North America has awarded Supermétal the Point Of Entry facility on the Canada side. which include.
-9 buildings that comprise 3000 MT (including connections and joists), most of the tonnage will be for the large 2-story administration complex.
-The 130-acre facility will also feature impressive canopies and will be in operation in 2023. The first of these buildings are beginning to erect, we'll be erecting steel on site until late 2022.
