A major expansion of approximately 180,000 sq ft, and renovations to approximately 100,000 sq ft of the existing engineering complex. Opened in the fall of 2016, the new facility enables the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering to educate an additional 400 undergraduate and graduate students, provides interactive design labs, expands student study spaces and adds two floors of research labs.

The $174 million renovation and expansion is an investment in the future of Alberta and Canada.

Starting at the end of 2014 Supermétal began erecting steel in phases until September 2015. The new Atrium features 2-50ft X-Braces which will be a feature attraction to the 550 tonne building.

Winner of the CISC Engineering Award in 2017.
