YYC Baggage Handling Replacement

Supermétal has been awarded the baggage handling change-out contract at the Calgary airport.  Spanning from 2016 - 2019, Supermétal will be relied upon as a steel construction manager responsible for the design, fabrication and installation of a new baggage handling system in an existing and operational facility.

 

The new baggage system being installed is a Crisplant tote system designed in the Netherlands. The system utilizes variable speed belts that transport individual bags in uniform totes. This system is energy efficient in comparison to the old conveyor systems and improves the ultimate wait time for travelers.

Our company has been utilizing Blue Beam software, enabling notes, diagrams and actual pictures taken on site. This information integrates into the drawing set for the project team to decide the best course of action.
