Start packing your bags, the new YYC international terminal is officially open to the world. From the initial contract back in 2012, to the grand opening of Canada’s newest connector hub in fall 2016, Supermetal has been there every step of the way.

YYC is changing the nature of air travel through design. It’s time for takeoff – here are 2 ways in which YYC  sets apart from the rest:

YYC is designed with the traveler in mind – with the overall number of gates is minimized by 40%, streamlined connections services, and compelling retail environments designed to de-stress – your experience at YYC will make you never want to leave.

Views for days: Incorporating features of the iconic Rocky Mountains, glacial lakes, and blue skies that Alberta is famous for. the 3D Trusses allows for volumes of natural light.

In addition to the 6000 tonnes fabricated Supermetal also proposed unique ideas to assist in schedule and costs including:

I.Shop rotator fabrication jig
 

II.Adjustble and Tracked Temporary Shoring Towers
 

III.Bolted round HSS splice in lieu of CJP field weld

Supermetal secured many additional contracts on top of the international terminal including a connections corridor and the current Baggage Handling system change-out in the old terminal.
