Merry Christmas to all! Supermétal has had a unique and transitional year involving all divisions of our company. Some highlights include completing fabrication of the Girders for the Turcot Exchanger, completing the Atrio Tower in Colombia and erecting steel for the innovative Upbrella jobsite without the use of cranes. Other highlights included utilizing a 1600ton crane that erected massive girders at a new MIT building in Boston, and on the West Coast- installing steel at the iconic 400 West Georgia tower in Vancouver.

The Atrio North tower is now an inspirational landmark in Bogota and for all of Colombia. Completed this year, our fabrication and site erection team were a key part in it's successful undertaking. More completion pictures and video are available on our website. Stemming from this success, we have now recruited a number of Colombians to our workforce in our shops in Quebec.

Our Bridge girder manufacturing facility in Sherbrooke QC has produced girders for the above mentioned Turcot Exchanger, and other bridge projects for MTQ. At this recently expanded facility we are proud to announce we have achieved 1-year without a lost time incident! Another highlight was realized in October, Sherbrooke produced the final girder for the Turcot Interchange project in Montreal. This major interchange spanned 3-years of fabrication totaling 16,000 tonnes and was a winner at the CISC awards in the bridge category.

In Montreal at the LRT expansion titled "REM", the NouvLR consortium has contracted Supermétal to build 4 LRT stations which range from 200MT to 1900 MT. Spanning 67 kilometers of double track and boasting 25 stations, the REM will link the South Shore, North Shore, West Island, downtown Montreal, and the Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Airport.

Montreal also featured Supermétal fabricating and erecting steel without the use of tower cranes atop of the existing and operational 18-story hotel Le Germain. The Upbrella system provided an enclosed work space and hoisted 6 new floors once completed. See the video link for the unique construction method in action!

In Boston, Supermetal completed contracts for Suffolk at the 2500 student, BMH Durfee High School. We are currently in the midst of constructing the MIT Building 3 for Turner Construction. The MIT educational facility has (10) 90-ton massive girders on the 7th floor cantilevered to support the above building block.

Across Canada our site team is completing installation of the 9th Avenue "Platform" Parkade in Calgary, AB. These 5 large multi-story trusses were fabricated at our Leduc, AB and required tandem picks with a mobile and tower crane. The Leduc facility is entering it's 10th year of operation and has kept a steady workforce fabricating for industrial projects such as the platforms at the Kearl oilsands site, pictured above.

Further West, our showcase project, 400 West Georgia is taking shape in Vancouver. Supermétal Construction is on target and effectively erecting the tower utilizing a great workforce from the lower mainland. New pictures of this tower are now available on the website.

Supermétal is entering the next decade optimistic on the economy and in a strong healthy position for the company, now entering it's 60th year! We have many new and exciting projects underway that we will share in the New Year.

From the Management team at Supermétal, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and your families!

Regards,

Allan Metzger, Corporate Sales Manager
